Streaming Video

Starting the Video Stream

To Start Streaming Video click the fifth icon on the toolbar or select Stream Video from the Detection menu. This will take a few moments to initialise so you will see 'Initialising' appear in the status bar.

Test the Video Stream

To test the Streaming Video open up Windows Media Player (Start Menu / Accessories / Entertainment) on click on the File menu and the Open URL. Enter:

http://localhost:22350

Port 22350 is configurable in the options. To view this video stream from a remote PC simply change the localhost for the IP address of the machine running Crime Catcher.

Stopping the Video Stream

To Stop Streaming Video click the fifth icon on the toolbar or select Stream Video from the Detection menu. A warning will display the first time you do this. This is to inform you of a possible delay that will take place if you still have Windows Media Player connected showing the video. It is recommended to close Windows Media Player first to minimize the delay.
